Integrate Wingify with Microsoft Clarity
#Overview
Microsoft Clarity is a free web analytics tool that helps website owners understand visitor interactions. It offers session recording, heatmaps, click tracking, scroll tracking, insights, and privacy features.
If you are using Wingify and Microsoft Clarity for tracking your website visitors, you can integrate your Wingify account with Microsoft Clarity to get your Wingify campaigns and variations pushed as custom tags in Clarity, using which you can view the recordings, heatmaps, and other insights of the corresponding visitor sessions.
#Before You Begin
- You have an active Microsoft Clarity account.
- The Wingify SmartCode and Microsoft Clarity analytics code are implemented on your webpage.
#Create a Microsoft Clarity Connection in Wingify
Wingify supports the following Microsoft Clarity connection type:
- Send campaign data to Microsoft Clarity (Push based): Allows you to track and analyze Wingify campaign data in Microsoft Clarity using campaign and variation details.
To create a Microsoft Clarity connection in your Wingify account:
- Log in to your Wingify account.
- From the left panel, navigate to Configurations > Integrations.
- Click the Microsoft Clarity integration tile and click Create Connection.
- Select Send campaign data to Microsoft Clarity.
All configured connections appear under the Config > Active Connections section on the Microsoft Clarity integration page.
After the connection is created, enable the integration at the campaign level using the following steps:
- Navigate to Web Experimentation.
- Select the desired campaign, and go to Configuration > Integrations.
- Select Microsoft Clarity from the list of available integrations.
#Send Campaign Data to Microsoft Clarity
Use this connection type to track and analyze Wingify campaign and variation data in Microsoft Clarity.
To configure the connection:
- Click Create Connection and select Send campaign data to Microsoft Clarity.
- In the Create Connection form, enter a name in the Connection Name field.
- Click Create Connection.
Once created, the connection appears under Active Connections.
Note: You can set this connection as the default for all new campaigns you create henceforth. To set it as the default connection, switch on the Default toggle for the Send campaign data to Microsoft Clarity connection. Once a connection is marked as default, Wingify automatically applies it to all new campaigns. Existing campaigns remain unaffected. If no default connection is set, you must manually select the appropriate connection for each new campaign.
#Enable the connection for a campaign

To start sending campaign data, you must enable the integration at the campaign level using the following steps:
- Navigate to Web Experimentation.
- Select the desired campaign and go to Configuration > Integrations.
- Select Microsoft Clarity from the list of available integrations.

#Create a Report in Microsoft Clarity Using Wingify Data
Let’s assume you’re looking to change the signup form layout to increase signups. For this, you can use Wingify to run an A/B test with the new design vs the existing one. After running the test campaign, you can send the campaign data to Microsoft Clarity to view session recordings and heatmaps for the corresponding variations.
To view session recordings and heatmaps for your campaign variations in Microsoft Clarity, create an A/B test in Wingify for the new design, enable the Wingify - Microsoft Clarity integration, and perform the following steps:
Log in to your Microsoft Clarity account.
From the homepage, go to My Projects and select your project.
Click on Filters, configure your generic filter options, and navigate to the Custom filters section.
From the Custom tags dropdown, select the appropriate tag. This will populate your campaigns in the adjacent field.
The custom tag name and format depend on when your account was created:Account created Custom Tag Format Before June 14, 2026 VWO VWO- - On/After June 14, 2026 wingify Wingify- -
Note: The custom tags that are pushed from Wingify will take about an hour to reflect in Microsoft Clarity.
- Select the required campaigns and click Apply.
Now you can view the heatmaps and screen recordings for the required visitor sessions.
