What are Goals in Wingify?

Note: Wingify Goals are upgraded to a more powerful and unified solution: Metric Reports and Funnel Reports. The legacy Goals feature will be officially deprecated in the coming months.

  • Non-Data Platform accounts can continue using Goals until they migrate to the Data Platform framework.
  • New Data Platform accounts (accounts created after Feb 25, 2025) will not have access to Goals.
  • Existing Data Platform accounts will retain access to Goals for a limited time during the transition period.

For more information on the upgraded solutions, refer to Wingify Metric Reports or Funnels in Data Platform or contact your Customer Success Manager.

#Overview

To measure the success or failure of your Wingify test, certain criteria must be met. This criterion is typically termed as Goals. Setting up goals for your Wingify test is the most integral part as it enables you to collect and analyze the data to evaluate the conversions on your website.

Each visitor on your website has some specific purpose, be it gathering information, checking out pricing, subscribing to a newsletter, purchasing, submitting their contact details to get further information, or something similar. All these actions constitute a goal that you can track and identify ways to improve your website conversions.

All the visitor actions on your website generate value in terms of revenue, user signups, lead generation, and so on. Goals typically help measure the health of your website by assessing the health of your goals.

Goals in Wingify are broadly categorized as:

#Wingify Behavior Analytics Goals

Goals in Wingify are typically created to assess the current visitor behavior and trends on your website. For example, if you only want to check how the Subscribe CTA button is performing in general, not as an assessment of test variations, you can simply achieve this by using these goals. These are specifically used to analyze website performance. To create a goal, go to Behavior Analytics > Goals.

Goals in Behavior Analytics can also be used to set up a funnel to analyze drop-off trends, etc. To know how to do this, refer to Creating a Funnel in Wingify.

Behavior Analytics supports the following goal types:

  • Track Page Visits
  • Track Form Submits
  • Track Clicks on Link
  • Track Clicks on Element(s)
  • Track Revenue
  • Track Custom Conversion

To learn more about these goals, refer to Types of Conversion Goals in Behavior Analytics.

#Wingify Web Experimentation Goals

Note: If your Wingify account is enabled with Data Platform, you will be able to use Metrics instead of Goals for tracking standard and custom events on your website for Web Experimentation. Unlike Goals, Metrics can be used across campaigns and can track multiple conversions.

Goals in Wingify are created to actually measure the performance of different variations of a test campaign. Based on the performance, you can choose to show the variation to your visitors that performs the best. For example, you may be creating an A/B test to check if any change in the color and size of the CheckOut button records more conversions. To create a goal, go to the Web Experimentation feature in the Wingify app, and select a test type, say A/B or Multivariate or any other.

Wingify Web Experimentation supports the following goal types:

  • Tracks Page Visits on
  • Tracks Engagement
  • Tracks Form Submits to
  • Tracks Click on Link
  • Tracks Click on Element(s)
  • Tracks Revenue On
  • Tracks Custom Conversion On

To learn more about these goals, refer to Types of Conversion Goals in Wingify Web Experimentation.
